Dr. Cameron Martin
I am, at my core, a teacher.
I teach what I've had to learn firsthand: how to lead from who you actually are, not who you built yourself to be.
The Honest Version
For most of my life I was focused on achieving. Two master's degrees and a PhD by 31. A teaching career I had dreamed about since childhood. A devout Catholic faith that shaped everything about how I saw myself and the world.
I was also gay—and for a long time, I hid it. Looking back, the achieving and the hiding were connected. The credentials, the accolades, the carefully constructed life—they were real, and they were also armor. A version of myself the world could receive while the truth of who I was waited.
At some point, staying hidden cost more than being seen ever could and I decided to come out. And then, in 2018, everything else started coming apart too.
The career. The relationship. The church. The identity I had spent decades building. All of it unraveling at once. From the outside I was still executing. Inside, the life I had constructed was falling away and I had no map for what was underneath it.
Astrology was one of the first things that helped me make sense of it.
I sat with someone who read my chart and felt, for the first time, truly seen. Not for what I had accomplished. Seen as a soul with a design, a direction, a purpose that had been present all along—underneath everything I had performed and proven and become.
That experience didn't hand me answers. It handed me a different kind of question. And it started a reconstruction of my life that has been unfolding ever since.
"For most of my life I was achieving. Earning. Proving."
What Emerged From It
I went back into research, but the questions had changed. I wasn't asking what makes someone a good leader anymore. I was asking about the nature of Being, how the soul is expressed in life, and what leadership looks like when it comes from that layer instead of performance. My doctoral dissertation followed those questions all the way through: astrology as a precision instrument for human design and leadership, the first academic work of its kind. What I couldn't find in the literature, I eventually built: a framework that holds the ancient wisdom and the real demands of leading something from the soul.
Being-Centered Leadership. Seven capacities that mark the development of a leader who is genuinely leading from their Being—not from conditioning, not from borrowed identity, not from armor they no longer need.
I have been developing and deepening this work ever since. In practice with real leaders. In writing. In my own continuing inquiry into what it means to live from Being rather than perform it.

When someone sits with me, something specific happens.
They feel seen. Not for their accomplishments or their role or the version of themselves they've been presenting to the world. Seen as a soul with a design, a direction, a specific signature that their leadership is meant to express.
For most of the leaders I work with, it is the first time that has happened at this level.
That experience changes how you move. It changed how I move. It is the thing this entire body of work is built to offer.
