The world is accelerating but that doesn’t mean we need to speed up. What we need to do is connect with our Being.

January is a strange time on the calendar. We’re told it’s time to push forward. To create resolutions. To initiate movement. And yet, in much of the world, it’s the dead of winter. The earth is quiet. Still. Inward. We should be too.

The new year is only a few days in, but feels well underway. Despite nature telling us to slow down, there is a sense of urgency—of imminent change—in the air. As an astrologer, I’m not surprised. Its’ been a week and 2026 has already lived up to the hype astrologers assigned to it.

A Year that Asked Everything of Us

2025 was a difficult year for many of us. It was a year of acceleration, disillusion, and completions of long-standing patterns. Many of us experienced identity deaths challenging us to shed old beliefs and ways of being, grieve old identities, and restructure our lives. Honestly, it was rough.

That kind of spiritual, psychological, and emotional work is powerful and it’s exhausting to the nervous system.

Now, we need to pause now to prepare for what’s ahead.

2026: A Year That Will Test Leadership Capacity

The astrology of 2026 is ushering in a powerful year of change. Everything we’ve experienced since 2020 has prepared us to take action in alignment with a world we truly want…by showing us, in no uncertain terms, what we don’t want.

The cracks in the world power structures, political systems, financial systems, and ecosystems are about ready to burst for good. We will see so much change to these and many other systems in 2026 because humanity is walking through a threshold—a turning point in our evolution—that will change us forever.

Among the many powerful energetic transits that will impact us is the Saturn-Neptune conjunction on February 20 which could very well redraw some nation’s borders and topple entire regimes. (The writing is already on the wall). The end of February is a defining epochal transit. It is a time where old structures, build on lower frequencies of fear and control, will crumble, leaving space for us to birth new ones.

In the month of April, we will have seven planets in the sign of Aries: the Great Initiator. The springtime energy will come in HOT with chaotic and sudden energy that is going to compel us to take action on that which is true for us. Sitting on the sidelines, delaying what we truly want—will not be an option. April brings strong leadership energy. We’re likely to see many people in positions of power fall off their thrones and many more aligned leaders step in to offer something different. (This could be you).

On July 4, the Mars-Uranus conjunction in Gemini is among the most radical and revolutionary energies we will see in our lifetimes. This transit is going to catalyze a very intense month of collective awakening, change, and recalibration of our ideals. It will be “breakdown and breakthrough” energy on steroids. Through the intensity will come major innovations, sudden openings, and deep spiritual/social regeneration. We’ve been needing these changes for a while and now will be the time for us to collectively create something new.

2026 will test us to have courage to act on new ideas. To do things in a new way. To entertain new ideas. Ultimately, 2026 will shift us to align with our soul’s missions.

Conscious Leaders Don’t Sprint Alongside Collapse

In times like these, it can feel easy to want to “keep up” with everything. But speeding up is not the answer right now.

If your nervous system is dysregulated, you can’t hear your intuition. You can make decisions from clarity. And you’ll default to old patterns of overworking, proving, hustling, reacting…all things we’re being asked to leave behind.

As conscious leaders, we need to stabilize. We must become more coherent.

Now is the time to prepare your inner container so that when the next wave of change arrives (it will be here soon enough), you can meet it consciously without controlling, forcing, or burning out. As you develop your capacity, you’ll be resourced to support others when they inevitably collapse around you.

The First Capacity: Presence

I teach leaders how to embody the 7 Capacities of Being-Centered Leadership on stages and inside my online community, The Soul Purpose Collective. The first of these capacities is Presence. And it’s the most important one for us right now.

Presence is about bringing our attention and awareness to the NOW moment. It is about connecting with our experience of life, without controlling it. When we are able to foster presence in our daily life, it allows us to connect with the truth of our Being.

Whether it comes through a breathwork practice, meditation, or time in nature, when we become present, we naturally become more of who we truly are. Our nervous systems are able to reset and we create energetic coherence within ourselves.

If you’re looking for support in fostering Presence in your life and in your leadership, join us this month in the Soul Purpose Collective as we dive deep into this capacity.

Slowing Down is a Radical Act

In a world that is more chaotic and speeding up every day, the most responsible leadership move we can make right now is to slow down. To stabilize, and prepare our inner container before trying to expand outward.

The journey of 2026 is going to ask us to become stewards for a New Earth. So much is about to change. This is the window that conscious leaders have been preparing for. Humanity is ready for a new form of leadership and we need to prepare ourselves for that task.

So, I invite you to ask yourself, “What can I do to build my inner capacity right now so that I am resourced for what comes next?”

As we begin the ride that will be 2026, let the answer be your lighthouse.
